The Longton rental market
Longton grew up around the bone china industry, and the housing still reflects that. The streets closest to the town centre are mostly two- and three-bedroom Victorian terraces built for pottery workers. Advice for Longton landlords
- Older terraces need staying on top of. Many Longton terraces are over 100 years old. Damp, roofs, older wiring and single-glazed rear windows are the most common issues we see. Tenants like Longton for its practical town centre. The Longton Exchange shopping centre and the high street cover day-to-day needs. Longton railway station is on the Crewe to Derby line, and the A50 gives fast road access east to Derby and west to the M6. Queen's Park, one of the city's Victorian parks, is on the edge of the town, and the Gladstone Pottery Museum, one of the last complete Victorian potbank sites, is a reminder of the area's heritage.
